Humphreys County School District is offering the following career and technical education (CTE) programs for the 2025-2026 school year:

Thomas C. Randle Career and Technical Center

  • Work-Based Learning - (.5 to 2 credits): This program offers on the job training experiences, apprenticeships, and internships for students 16 years and older.

  • Construction/ Carpentry -  (2 years, 4 credits): Construction/ Carpentry program provides a foundation of knowledge to prepare students for employment or continued education in carpentry occupations in  the construction industry. 

  • Welding -  (2 years, 4 credits):  This comprehensive, two-year Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is designed to equip high school students with the skills and knowledge necessary for entry-level employment or further education in the welding industry.​

  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration -  (2 years, 4 credits): ​The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offers a structured pathway for high school students interested in the HVACR industry. 

  • Educator Preparation -  (2 years, 4 credits):  Educator Preparation is designed to help students gain foundation competencies related to students as learners, planning and assessing teaching, teaching strategies, and communication skills. Students receive hands-on field experiences visiting elementary classrooms. 

  • Health Care and Clinical Services – (2 years, 4 credits): Health Care and Clinical Services program prepares students for careers in the healthcare industry. The program introduces students to health careers, basic health sciences, and basic health career skills. Students learn medical terminology, body systems, legal and ethical issues, and health care skills. 

  • Law and Public Safety – (2 years, 4 credits): This Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is designed to introduce students to careers in law enforcement, legal services, emergency services, corrections, and security fields.

Humphreys County High School

  • Family and Consumer Science  – (.5 credit): Family and consumer sciences (FCS) education in Mississippi consists of the CORE program and specific career and technical programs. These courses prepare students for living in the real world and help them develop leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical-thinking, communication, computer, and mathematical skills. 

  • Exploring Computer Science (ECS) - (1 credit): Exploring Computer Science (ECS) is a hands-on, survey course that introduces students to the breadth of the computer science field. It prepares students for further study and careers in technology-related fields.

O.M. McNair Middle School

  • Cyber Foundations I: The Cyber Foundations I program is designed to provide students with essential skills in computer science, digital literacy, and cybersecurity, laying the groundwork for more advanced studies in the IT field. 

  • Cyber Foundations II - (1 year, 1 credit): Cyber Foundations II is a foundational computer science course. This program is designed to provide students with essential skills in computer science, digital literacy, and cybersecurity, laying the groundwork for more advanced studies in the IT field. Students will explore topics such as artificial intelligence, problem-solving, programming, online safety, and the basics of computer hardware and software.

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) - (1 year, 1 credit): CSE is a project-based course designed to instruct students through activities that require modeling, physical design, and coding, leading them to discover how computing and engineering work together to solve problems.
