I am immensely grateful and honored to serve as the director of Larry Summers Career and Technical Center in the Mississippi Achievement School District-Yazoo Region. I am a native of Yazoo City and graduate of Yazoo City High School (1984). I have taught for 20 + years in the same school district. I have served as an instructional assistant, teacher, team leader, mentor, curriculum specialist, instructional coach and assistant principal.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Childcare and Family Education, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education both from Jackson State University and a specialist degree from Delta State University in Educational Leadership and Supervision. My lifelong commitment has been to dedicate myself to the parents and students of this community in developing growth mindsets, building capacity and to serving academically.

I also enjoy family, church, shopping, and traveling. I am married to Curtis L Strong, and we share four children and eight grandchildren.
